Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapist
Kate has worked as a specialist pelvic health physiotherapist for over 18 years in NHS clinics and now also has private practice at clinics in Wirral, Liverpool and London. She has extensive experience of pelvic dysfunction including complex pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence (bladder and bowel), constipation and obstructed defaecation, bladder pain syndrome and sexual dysfunction. She tutors nationally for the POGP (Pelvic, obstetric and gynaecological physiotherapy group), Maria Elliot Physiotherapy Services and lectures at the University of Liverpool. Kate uses a holistic approach that includes manual pelvic therapy (internal and external), visceral release and other soft tissue techniques, functional rehabilitative exercises as well as anal/vaginal neuromuscular electrical stimulation therapy, emg biofeedback and rectal balloon catheter retraining. She is also trained in Pilates and uses these principles in many of her individual treatment programmes.
